Pre-Work:

Work is completed prior to the launch of the Academy to fully personalize the process for each participant. The pre-work includes a multi-rater or self assessment, skill assessment, and/or personality indicator -- and reading material.

A Two Day “Emersion” Event:
This session launches the process and establishes the expectations and goals for the full learning experience.

Personal Development Goals:
Each individual will identify personal goals to achieve during the Academy. These are tracked and measured throughout the process.

Peer Coaches:
Each participant has a “peer coach” assigned to him/her. They meet between sessions to discuss readings, skills learned and current issues they face. These coaches support the each other between sessions.

Homework:

Following each session, homework is assigned to ensure on-the-job practical experience with the concepts taught in the training sessions. Homework includes reading of the most current management practices articles and practicing the skills learned in prior sessions.

Full Day Skill Building” Sessions:
In each session, learning is shared between participants, progress is tracked and new skills sets are developed. Multiple forms of learning approaches are used in these sessions, including experiential processes, feedback, diads, triads, small groups, formal teaching, one-on-one coaching, videos, video cameras, etc.

Follow Up Coaching:
Facilitators follow up with participants throughout the Academy period to ensure understanding of concepts and mastery of new skills.

Final Graduation Celebration and Ceremony:

Completion of the program is marked with a celebratory ceremony, to include issuance of certificates to each participant.

Monthly Director Updates:
Each month during Directors meetings, the Academy leaders will briefly update the Directors on the content of the upcoming session so that the Directors know what to look for in their Leaders and how to reinforce new skills and behaviors in the workplace.

Individual Director Follow Up:
As needed, Academy leaders will meet with individual Directors to discuss progress of specific Leaders. This will allow the Directors to fully understand the challenges and skills of their Leaders and will help Directors provide coaching on specific issues when warranted.
